Name:
Malcolm Smith.
Age:
28.
Profession:
Professional Rock Climber.
Number
of years climbing?
Thirteen Years.
What
is your favourite crag and why?
Bas
Cuvier at Fontainebleau. There are so many hard, quality problems
there and I've got a lot of good memories of the place.
What
is your favourite bouldering area and why?
Fontainebleau again, it's the home of bouldering and there's so
much of it.
What
is your favourite band or album?
I'm not a great music buff but Travis are good, I enjoy being
depressed.
What's
your favourite film?
'Scar face'
What
was the last book you read and did you enjoy it?
'It's Not About the Bike' by Lance Armstrong, it was incredibly
inspiring. The guy nearly died of cancer then came back to win
the Tour de France.
Where
did you first start climbing and were you immediately hooked?
In Northumberland, I loved it straight away. Very quickly, I realised
that was all I wanted to do.
What
area of climbing would you say is your weakness or the area that
you have to work on the most? For example, power, stamina, technique
etc.
Stamina. My power and technique are good. For a climber of my
weight stamina is harder to achieve.
