The climbing
At time of writing there are 25 sectors spread practically the length of the West Coast of the island. Marked clearly at the side of the road with an impressive, white pillar with a plate indicating the sector name, what colour markers to follow and the time to the foot of the crag. Supermarket climbing it maybe but well worth a day at the corner shop.

Sectors/Zones:

Monastery
Sixteen routes mainly F6a/6b on beautiful grey slabs.
South facing so shades in the morning till noon then a bit hot. Reached from S end of Kantouni beach find the white marker posts and follow yellow markers to crag-5/10 mins.

Austrians
A new sector-mainly short overhanging routes between 6b and 8a-Eleven routes in all at present. West facing. Sun after 4pm. Reached as per Monastery but follow red marks after 200m.15min.

Yerakios
Three routes on a rather poor slab-not strongly recommended in view of the wealth of better sectors, but useful if your chasing 5c for which there are two, plus
a 6a+. SW facing reached just before Myrties coming from Panormos, turn R after long downhill stretch onto concrete road and follow yellow markers.

Poets
A great crag-strongly recommended-waterholes in profusion and15 superb slab routes of 6a to 6b. A mid. grade paradise. SW facing-sun after 1230.See white
marker opposite Hotel Continental in Massouri and then follow blue marks.20 mins.

Kalynda
A large cliff, between Poets and Panorama, with two potential multi-pitch routes-first two pitches complete. Great scope for new routing. South facing. Sun after 1pm. Go left on route up to Poets-no marks.

Panorama.
A steep grey wall with 5 routes 6c to 7a+ and heaps of
possibilities. SW facing. Sun after 1300. Approach as per
sector 'Afternoon'.

Grande Grotta
An impressive large cave with potential for mega hard routes-We gave this one a miss. SW facing. Sun after 3pm.Approach as per 'Afternoon.

Afternoon
A great sector with something for everyone with 13 routes ranging from 4a to 6b and very shady with the crag facing N-so ideal for those very hot days.
Approach via white marker on roadside N of village of Massouri close to hotel Filoxenia. Follow red marks. 20 mins.
