LPT lies below the Marine Drive, a tourist loop road around the Great Orme; the crag rising above a tidal, rocky shelf. To get to the start of the Marine Drive, head up the sea front road through Llandudno following signs for the Marine (or Scenic) Drive or the Llandudno Pier. Before you get to the Pier decide whether or not you want to pay the toll to take your car onto the Marine Drive, or else park up and walk in instead. If you intend to walk in, park up at either Parisella's Café or the Pay and Display car park (usually full) just after the Pier. The turn off for Parisella's is the left turn just before the Pier, signed for the Summit Cable Car and Ski Slope. Head off to the start of the Marine Drive, hence stroll past those queuing to pay their £2 toll. Click here for the Free LPT topo.Head along the Marine Drive until you've past a couple of caves on the left of the road, the Dumbell Flyer and Mumbo Jumbo areas (limited parking is available here), then jump over the wall (this usually causes at least one tourist to go green at the gills) and then head down 'the green slope of death' and so onto the beach. The same point can also be reached along the beach from the Pier. Walk along the rocky shoreline until your feet get wet then stop. LPT is the crag on your left!
