What
better way to end the event than with a fun dyno competition sponsored
by Bendcrete? The objective is pretty simple, hey it's not exactly
rocket science simple dyno diagonally from the two
starting holds to the specially designed finishing jug, modelled
on a previous employee of Bendcrete (answers on a postcard to ****).
Competitors were allowed a short period of familiarisation with
the hold set at the shortest distance before the sudden death rounds
began.
Most
competitors made it easily through the first round but after repositioning
the finishing hold most of the female competitors failed to make
it through to the next round possibly due to the hold being moved
too far. The next few rounds saw only a few male competitors being
knocked out, at this rate the competition would go on all night.
The spectators were encouraging Percy to move the hold further and
further each time so it was not long before only a handful of competitors
were left. During
the final round it looked as though the hold had been set just too
far as each competitor failed to latch onto the jug. Last up was
Pat King, could he make the distance and hang the hold? Pat stepped
up to the board chalked up took a few swings before launch out towards
the hold and yes he just managed to catch the hold and control the
swing to win the competition.
You
may have thought that that would be it but oh no they wanted to
go further. The hold was moved to a new position beyond the unofficial
record, the only question was whether anybody could dyno that far?
The remaining die-hard competitors came very close to hanging the
hold that was until Adam Long pulled out a truly awesome effort
to create a new unofficial record of 2.41 metres.
