With
over 500 routes ranging from 5b to 8c Buoux has been the quintessential
sports climbing crag for over twenty years. Ideally located in the
South of France, the good food, cheap campsites and long warm days
produce the perfect climbing venue. The unique honeycombed limestone's
rock produces a huge range of routes from layback crack, to overhanging
pocketed lock fest's. If you're new to pocket climbing don't expect
to be really cranking first time out, it takes a while to get into
the Buoux style.
The
other great attraction to this area is that if you bore of climbing
on pockets there at least 5 major crags (Orgon, Volx, Les Calanques
& Verdon) within a few hours drive that are well worth a visit.
Rest day's needn't be spent sitting around the campsite getting
fed up when you could go swimming, play tennis, drive down to Aix
and wonder round the shops and cafés or spend a day at the seaside.
(For more information logon to www.beyond.fr).
Buoux has everything, well equipped routes at every grade, beautiful
valley location and all within easy access so if your looking for
a perfect Easter break why not consider the south of France.
