Photo Tim Glasby.Ben Moon, who has moved to Salt Lake City this autumn to persue his business and climbing interests takes up the story " I first tried the shoes last Autumn out at 'Font', they fitted well, felt good and I was really impressed with the rubber. It was only when I talked to my good friend Stefan Glovacz (Red Chili founder) that we thought it might be a good idea to team up"

Red Chili who have gained some rave reviews for their shoes in the States so far were also very pleased with the link up, Stefan Glowacz, Red Chili founder and world class climber comments, "Bens been at the top for a long time and still is, his recent 8B font problem Black Lung at Ibex confirming this, and his energy, enthusiasm and experience will complement our team perfectly!!"

"With my moving to the US to launch my S7 clothing brand it seemed the perfect opportunity to join forces with another forward thinking company who are making waves in the states. Red Chili are a progressive brand and they've also given me the chance to use my experience to have some input with the design of the shoes - we'll make a good team! My favourite shoes are the Habanero for routes and Dos Equis for bouldering."

Martin Atkinson (Red Chili director) commented that he felt that "it is quite a coup for Red Chili to get Ben on the team. We have made great strides with the brand in the last 6 months and this shows we are serious about getting the right personell to move the brand forward in the world market. Red Chili sells worldwide now and Ben is one of the few names which appeals to climbers globally from Japan to Scandinavia to the US and really backs up the work we have already done."

Photo Ben, who has seen his lifestyle change radically, over the last two years with the success of his S7 clothing brand in the UK, his recent marriage, as well as his move to the US, seems to take all this in his stride and doesn't let everything diminish his enthusiasm for rock. " Yes, its been a hectic time for me trying to fit it all in and stay focussed but it all seems to be working out well on all fronts; business, personal and climbing. The reception for the launch of S7 clothing in the US with the help of Boone Speed and all the guys at Pusher and Cordless has been tremendous it's great to be working with a bunch of like minded people who know the business but also know where climbing fits in. These guys and the boys at Red Chili know I'm first and foremost a climber and I'm mega keen to do well over here there is so much potential for superb climbing in the US, my recent trips over here have been great" Ominously for those who feel his lengthy tenure at the top of the climbing ladder will be adversly affected by all his other interests (and all those with significant bouldering projects) Ben finishes by saying "just before I left the UK I climbed 'Eight Ball V14 / 8b ', possibly the hardest problem I've done. With the move to the US and Red Chili I'm super psyched to really push myself to crank some super hard moves and I feel that I'm in the best bouldering form of my life"
