Location.

Head on the A623 out of Stoney Middleton until you reach a petrol station on the left. Take the next left turn sign posted B6465 Wardlow. Continue on the B6465 until you reach a cross road about 3 Km out of the village. Turn right at the junction which should put you on a narrow country road that ends at a T-junction. Take a right turn at this junction and continue on this road until you see the old Cressbrook Mill on the left. Park on either side of the road opposite the Mill. Follow the public footpath behind the Mill, once round the cafe you should see Rubicon Wall, a path leads off to the left over a wooden bridge and up a steep hill. Follow the abandoned rail track that runs parallel to Rubicon until you come across a path on the right on the other side of a small stone wall. This path runs down a steep banking until you reach the river, follow the path leftwards until you see The Cornice.
You can also follow the valley on the other side of the river and then wade across the river when you see The Cornice on the left hand side.
