If you haven't been to Fontainebleau before then you should definitely go and experience possible the best bouldering in the world. The perfectly formed sandstone boulders litter the forests around the beautiful town of Fontainebleau. Although it is possible to climb here all year round the hard-core boulders out there might want to pencil a visit anytime between October and February when the temperature falls between 0° and 8°C.

The sixty-bouldering areas contain the entire spectrum of climbing styles from sloper to micro crimps, enough to keep even the most enthusiastic boulder going for years. There are problems of every grade so even if you've never bouldered before Bleau is definitely worth a visit.

Location.

Fontainebleau is located in the north of France about 65 km south east of Paris. The A6 'autoroute du soleil' between Paris and Dijon runs parallel to the major road that leads in to Fontainebleau (N7). Paris has two airports Charles de Gaulle located near the A1 and Orly just east of the N7. Trains run ever hour from Gare du Lyon Paris to Fontainebleau.
