Spanish Pesetas available everywhere.
There are many cash machines in most resorts.

Restaurants specialise in fish.
Eating and drinking out is very cheap due to the string pound.

Time
Central European time zone, same as France.  Generally one hour ahead of London.

Population
Mallorca is the largest in a group of Spanish islands known collectively as the Balearics.
The natives are proud of their heritage and are from the same descendants as the Catalans in Barcelona.
As a result they speak a Spanish dialect, though most people understand whatever Spanish you can remember from school and of course English.
